Face of a male Grey Flatwing near Coogee beach Sydney NSW on November 15th 2016.

The walk along the rocky coastline around Coogee Sydney is very scenic. I was pleased to see a remnant swamp along the coastal walking track from which a little stream of water spilled over the rocks, eventually making its way to the sea. When I got a chance, I returned to have a closer look for what might be living here. There were a few Common Bluetails, lots of Aurora Bluetails, two Fiery Skimmer dragonflies and a new damselfly for me, the Grey Flatwing . I only saw males which seemed to be quite young as they did not have much pruinescence which you would expect on a damselfly called the Grey Flatwing. A couple of males were having face to face disputes over territory.
