SLENDER RINGTAIL
Family Lestidae
Slender Ringtails are difficult to find in NE NSW but quite common at the Manning Lake in Perth WA. They seem to like the swampy area adjacent to the lake which is covered in what looks like lots of Melaleuca shrubs. I have also seen a male Slender Ringtail in Victoria in a suburban Melbourne garden.

A case of mistaken identity. The male on right has mistaken a 2nd male for a female possibly because of its colour, and is attempting to mate.
